Jeremy Camp The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion Concert reviews
DMB is the Greatest Band of Our Generation
**Revised and rearranged review:**
I understand - many years ago, before I "got it," I was in your shoes, for all people out there who go to a Dave Matthews concert and then complain that the band does not play enough mainstream radio songs. When you do not regularly listen to all of the songs on all of the albums, there is nothing wrong with wanting to hear Ants & Crash at every single concert. The band is musically brilliant - lyrically and instrumentally. Today, that has changed completely about 10 years ago, I would listen to nothing but DMB's biggest hits and complain when I didn't hear songs that I was familiar with. It wasn't the band - it was me. I love the rest, b/c I gave the album a real chance and after hearing the songs several times, they just clicked for me. I happen to not be too fond of maybe 2 songs on GrooGrux. I listen to every song and there are very few songs that I do not enjoy. I don't get art, but I get DMB music - big time. Music is like art, you either get it, or you don't. The more I listen, the more the songs grow on me and the more they click for me. So, trust me on this one. If their new album would have been released 10 years ago, I would've bitched and moaned that they didn't play "Funny the Way it Is" 12 times at shows. When you give all of the songs, on all of the albums a real chance and you go to at least one concert a year, you will like a greater variety of songs and you will not want to hear the same 10 songs every year. Give it a chance and you too will understand why DMB is so special and why the band will go down in history as the greatest of our generation. The greatest feeling was hearing Dave open a show with Typical Situation (one of my top songs) for the first time ever at a concert (and I've been a fan for 15 years).
